Welcome to the Hillsboro Elks Camping Club

B.P.O.E. On Wheels 1862 Camper Club
The B.P.O.E. On Wheels 1862 Camper Club is a group of campers who are members in good standing of any B.P.O. E. Lodge. Members attend a campout a month from March through October as well as a Christmas party in December. They enjoy fellowship, participate in many fun activities, share camping stories and experiences, and make great friends. Campouts are held at sites in Oregon and Washington within a reasonable distance from Hillsboro, Oregon. Campouts are often scheduled near events like the October Fest, Clam Digging, and wine festivals.
Regular meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 in the Hillsboro Lodge building. Guests are more than welcome to attend, meet a great group of campers, and to see if they would like to become a part of a great group of campers.
New officers for tis camper club are: Gary Hansen, President; Rich Tenneson,Wagon Master; Marie Turney, Treasurer to share the position with Shirley Selberg, the current treasurer. Mary Chaika will continue as secretary and Mike Bielman as assistant waagon master.
We would like to encourage others to consider joining our camper club.
Camper Club Visits The Coast
Seventeen members traveled to Ocean Lake Elks Wapiti RV Park in Lincoln City for the last camp out of the season. Some fog, but mostly sun provided walks on the beach, deep sea fishing, out-door confabs and a good time. Friday night we dined at the Ocean Lake Elks Lodge . We were treated royally with good food and service. Saturday,
some went shopping, gambling and walking on the beach. More of the same on Saturday with a potluck in the evening at one of the small shelters. Cards, games, good food and friends made for a pleasant evening. Sunday morning at dawn, Reinard, John, Pat, Ellis and Herb went deep sea fishing at Depoe Bay. No ling cod was caught but a few yellow-tail rock fish. Some left behind went to Vivien's in Lincoln City for breakfast--great food and service and then on to Depoe Bay to check up on the fishermen and whales which were sighted. This was a small group but large on fellowship. Pictures are from the breakfast at Vivien’s, thank you Sandi, for the picture.
